Cat. #000373: EDIT ANGOLD

Extremely rare and one-of a-kind original 1947 Samuel Goldwyn contract for the role of Hedvig in The Bishop's Wife, boldly signed in fountain pen and initialed in her hand on an attached rider. In good condition with several horizontal folds. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the images of the document is not included. German-born Edit Angold began her acting career on the Berlin stage, also appearing in a few silent pictures. Relocating to Hollywood to escape the Third Reich and then gradually growing into a white-haired older woman, she found new work as a character actress, playing maids, wives, aunts, grandmothers, landlords, neighbors, and townspeople who spoke with dense accents and always broke one's heart.
