Cat. #00159102421: GUY KIBBEE

Very tough to acquire vintage 8x10-inch matte-finish sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in the late 1930s. In good condition. Bald, plump, ever-hotheaded character actor Guy Kibbee enlivened many a Warner Brothers musical, historical drama and gangster flick, typically cast as jovial, dimwitted authority figures. Highlights of his film career include Side Show (1931), The Dark Horse (1932), Rain (1932), 42nd Street (1933), Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933), Lady for a Day (1933), Babbitt (1934), Captain Blood (1935), Little Lord Fauntleroy (1936), Captain January (1936), Of Human Hearts (1938), Babes in Arms (1939), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939), Our Town (1940), It Started with Eve (1941), Design for Scandal (1941), and The Horn Blows at Midnight (1945).
