Cat. #000674: MARION "PEANUTS" BYRON

Very tough to acquire signature-- indeed, just the third example we have ever encountered-- in blue felt-tip pen on a 4x6-inch off-white card, acquired in-person by an inveterate autograph hound in 1972. In good condition and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Note that the image of the star shown alongside the scan of the signature here is not included. Adorable singer, dancer and silent and early talkie film actress Marion Byron-- who was nicknamed "Peanuts" because of her tiny stature-- made her screen debut as Buster Keaton's leading lady in 1928's Steamboat Bill, Jr.. Impressed by her looks and acting ability, Hal Roach signed her to appear in short comedies alongside Max Davidson, Edgar Kennedy, Charley Chase, Anita Garvin, and Laurel and Hardy.
